Originally in the Gaylord Building beginning in 1982, the shop moved to a storefront next to the Bailey Theatre facade for 25 years. Daughtry eventually sold the bookstore and its inventory to Gwenyfar Rohler, a lifelong customer who first started coming to the shop as a child. Her shop, Old Books on Front Street, has been at 249 North Front since 2010.
